it does depend where you live..
in more rural areas it's 100% essential i agree, in melbourne (aus) they have a really convenient (well... kind of convenient) tram system which means i don't need a car to get around since i live pretty close to the city

and have a girlfriend of 2 years w00t..

although she does want me to get a car to taxi her around...

What I meant was, he's more exited about some obscure russian drum machine that no one has that actually making music. You see these kinds of people on youtube showing off their studio with huge modular synths and some unknown rare analog synths, yet most of them can't even put together a decent track. They are foremost collectors/electronics geeks and only then musicians.

So what you're point? Lady Gaga is an accomplished musician. I bet she can play piano better than moby, sucks she doesn't have any drum machines to show off, though...

I understand that he can come off as pretentious, but your missing the point. This was a tour of his studio, not an interview about his music.

You do realize we're speaking about Moby here and the only thing that Lady Gaga may have on Moby is that she probably has a bigger cock than him lol. Lady Gaga is NOT an accomplished musician. Moby IS!

My music and my goals. To me it's all that matters. Where I live (suburbs) there are very few people in general who are interesting and/or driven to do anything but get fucked up on the regular. Why would I need a girlfriend when I can spend 95% of my time on music and then ring up some of my girls (I only have 2 guy friends) and go have some fun.

I haven't had interest in relationships since I turned 21. Granted there was a very bad long experience prior to that, but i'm just a selfish fuck and all that matters to me is succeeding so that I can travel the world and actually meet some people I genuinely enjoy and like instead of spending time settling for the best available thing like everyone else.

The world has turned more and more into a place where independence is rewarded and dependence and strings only hold people back. Not driving doesn't change anything because like I said I have a hired driver (who I plan on buying an Audi here for soon) to reward him for his loyalty.

hahaha

both of them are bad investment in money yeah but a car is an investment in time for my sake. i save 1 hour of public transport every fucking day by driving. yes it costs me a little more and i polute the planet but then the government should have better public trans. Shall i sacrifice 7hours a week to save the planet? hell NO! and the freedom of driving damn thats worth alot. wanna go skiing? just go, dont have to be dependant on anyone else or shitty busses or anything. its almost cheaper and faster too compared to the busses here. Music gear is another kind of investment, an investment in having a goodtime, being creative, and for some it might even get you money in the long run. Besides it holds for long and can be resold. Ive sold all my gear without any loss actualy (except computer though, that shit is lame).

i like public transportation

You can read or write. I would rather take 15 minutes longer and use that time than drive.
I could go and buy a car today but i just don't see the point. Cars are so fucking stressful. They constantly break down and need so much time to maintain.

we have to desagree then

i use my car for everything. its one of the few buys i did the last couple of years that has given me alot (remember its a old 98 corsa so its not realy ruining my echonomy either). i travel alot in my own country, and were driving everywhere. holidays, weekend-trips everything. all depends on your interests really, eventhough i live in the city i get fucking tired of it sometimes and just need to go to the mountains or woods or whatever with some friends and get loaded. and i drive to work as stated before. i like some with public trans too, when ur actualy on it, its nice. but waiting for it i cant stand it, it gives me soar stomach of stress.

This is the drum machine Moby talked about being his prized possession.

There's one of those sat in my basement at home.
