Astral Projection is one of the most popular acts in trance music ever. I still find most of their production as excellent.

Tons of people do think "astral projection brought cheese to goa trance" though. So bad example :P

Another good example of reasonably popular but still good is Juno Reactor. They're now a totally different sound but they haven't sold out, just changed.

Well I'm not saying that personally, but if you look at the stuff they did compared to early goa stuff it does look a bit cheesy sometimes.

Anyway they certainly aren't bad in my opinion, but they're about the halfway mark between popular stuff and not actually good (I usually either love them or find them somewhat boring, depends on what mood I'm in). You'll have to goto psynews to find the AP haters :P (which I can certainly see where they are coming from though).

Yet plays a major role in getting it to sell out.

If you were old enough to have actually seen Fleming you would realise you are talking shit. He usually only plays one Infected Mushroom track per set, with the rest being stuff like Wizzy Noise and FREq. How is that 'selling out'?

I disagree completely. They set a standard for the genre back with things like Classical Mushroom and BP Empire. The rest of their stuff was so-so, but only recently have they begun to stray from their roots and try to experiment with new stuff, and most people either love it or hate it with a passion. I hate their new stuff, but you have to admit the massive amount of influence they had on psytrance in general.

Atcually, Infected Mushroom strayed from their roots when they started doing psy-trance. Before that they did rock.

Their early stuff was actually not very goaish. The stuff they released under SFX is pure melodic trance stuff. Their first actual commercial release is probably Burning Up in 2000. With that you can clearly tell that they included some commercial vibe of that time.
But apart from that I would say that they have stayed pretty loyal to their roots and evolved their sound without falling into a commercial trap which many other acts of their proportions have done.

I've heard his sets. So that's what I'm basing it on, that and some of the opinions he's expressed and what people who's opinions I usually agree with have said about him.

And what makes you think I can't get into 18+ stuff? I've been served alcohol in the U.S.
