2) Your VSTs will not work in Logic. Logic is AU only and even if it wasn't or you used a VST Wrapper a Mac VST is different to a PC VST. If you purchased them I would assume technical support would be able to provide you with Mac AU equivalents. I don't use many of the bundled synths and effects but they're still very usable. You could make great music with them for sure.

3) Never tried it but I would say it works fine, never seen anyone complaining about it. Once you learn Logic though you might find you won't want or need Reason any more. I see a lot of threads about rewiring Reason so they can use Redrum but Ultrabeat dicks all over it.

Mobile i7 chips aren't too far away now, I'd wait and get one of those

thanks for the info!

2) Seeing as I've bought a decent amount of VSTi and VST at this point, is there any way to transfer them to the AU format? Or are the included synths and effects more than sufficient?
3)How stable and overall workable is the Rewire function in logic 9 with reason?
4) I have two interfaces at the moment, m-audio firewire 410 and a behringer fca 202, will i need to purchase a new one?
5) I heard that there are problem with logic and the virus TI functioning properly, does this still persist?

i would say go for it..

1: SHOULD be ok, logic's pretty intuitive once you get the basics down, and knowing the basics of many daws already i'm sure you'll get it no worries!
2: MOST vsts come with an AU version... a lot of them have the AU with the install file, or you might be able to get them exchanged or whatever...
Logic's built in stuff is AWESOME though imo... all of the fx and plugins work wonders.. i don't use the synths too much, but all of the EQs, verbs and distortions are top notch...
3: not too sure..
4: already answered..
5: this has been FIXED!! thank god.. month or 2 ago access released a patch and now my TI interacts beautifully with macs

This is going to be on a case-by-case basis for each plugin you own. Some companies provide you with both PC and Mac versions when you purchase. Some will want a cross-grade fee (usually $20 or so). Some will make you buy it again (rare).

Agreed. You'll be surprised at how capable most of the built in plugins are. The built in Software Instruments and Software Effects (Logic speak) are actually not Audio Units, but part of the Logic core code base. This means that they run very well with extremely low resource usage. All this combined with OS-level integration of Core Audio (Logic's version of ASIO) makes for a VERY stable system. All the problems I have ever had, which are few, have been traced to problems with 3rd party software.

Confirmed. I've had my TI for a week and had zero problems with it (knock on wood).
