Although he's lost all the credibility for me a long time ago.

LOL, don't worry. I would be willing to put good money on the fact that they're not even Swedish. I went to see Tiesto in 2004 and there was a group of idiots wearing the Oranje jersey in the front holding a Dutch flag. Six months later, the same group of idiots were at a PvD gig wearing Germany football jerseys while holding a German flag.

although even i hate to admit that they have made a good track or 2.

considering they have released like 5 million of them it was bound to happen.

Bar maybe one or two tunes like you said, I honestly would prefer to listen to Anjunabeats than Steve Angello/Swedish House Mafia. Honestly. They are ear-splittingly offensive.

Get fucked. Swedish House Mafia have made some of the finest commercial club music this decade. Their tracks are accessible and superficial, but they're good quality for what they set out to achieve. I like most of their pre-2006 stuff.

Get fucked? Er don't take it to heart mate...

Anyways, Pitbull - You Know You Want Me (or whatever the fuck it's called) is superficial and accessible, and would come under the banner of commerical house music. Now, I have previously stated that they've released a few quality tracks in the past, but by and large, they really do fit the description you just provided, because I can't tell the difference between alot of the stuff they play and something like Pitbull. It really is lowest common denominator music to my ears, and it's made painfully worse by Angello's horrendous attitude/ego.

All my own opinion however, no need to get hurt

EDIT: Btw I'm mainly talking about their DJing, I'll let them off ever so slightly on the production front because (at the risk of repeating myself) they've had some nice tracks in the past.

Hurt?

I thought if anyone understood the value of day to day playful swearing it was the Irish.

That has no melody and no percussion. It's just a basic beat with some tool rapping over the top. How is that anything like the tracks I posted, which have energy, percussion and recognisable melodic hooks? You are kidding yourself if you think the Pitbull track is at all similar. It is made for the radio, whereas the SHM tracks are made for clubs. There is a difference.

John Dahlback has put out more productions than the rest of his country combined, and he's got about 5 good tracks to show for it, a few of them being collaborations to boot.

Jesper > John.

I fucking love that track, I wish I could find it in decent quality digital format, all I have is the vinyl.

edit: turning this thread into a discussion about which Swedes are the best musicians is going to be fairly fucking pointless when you have names like Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Par Grindvik, Minilogue/Son Kite, Ticon, Solar Fields, et cetera.
