I'm going to upgrade to windows 7 soon. I'll start my MCTS certification studies for it in about a week. So propably about the same time i switch to it. I Got ultimate/pro/whatever 64-bit version free from microsoft itacademy so why not. Sure beats vista and XP.

Why don't people take backups/snapshots from their clean working environments and when it start to get buggy re-install those?

there might be alot of updates since your clean install you know. that solution sucks unless u make a new image every month. and then the point is gonne because ull take image of all the crap too. even in osx u better reinstall everything sometimes, eventhough timemachine is awesome i would rather install everything from bottom. i only use timemachine for a panikbackup really (if all else fail). thank gods its so easy on a mac.

I think I saw Gareth Emery was on SX 2 a less than a year ago. Once you have a stable system, sometimes it best to just leave well enough alone. I'll probably stick with OS 10.5 until there is a compelling reason to upgrade. So far, 10.6 hasn't given me enough of a reason to upgrade.

Yes, it is. And since you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, perhaps you could refrain from the obvious trolling in the future.

I'm happy with XP. No reason to upgrade. I use my apps, not my OS.

Logic 8 is not, so it doesn't matter.

a few sample librairies have a work around including Logics own Esx24 so that 64 bit addressing is available ( It isn't true 64 bit but it can load the same amount of ram)
