We like to think we've conquered GAS, although it's hard what with the constant stream of must have new products thrust our way. I recently bought TRACS deluxe as the write up's said they were in some instances 100% indistinguishible from the highest quality hardware units - and guess what, they're ok, but again certainly nothing to get excited about. So I could be wrong on this, but I'm fairly sure 95%+ of all new gear si'nt really going to make any difference. PS - yes I'm very competent and at home getting very deep into editing - I mention this because the usual retort is that I dont understand the equipment deep enough.

have you considered getting a blog ? You tend to use most threads as a launch-pad for your self directed equipment/compentency prose.

What endless stuff? It's 5 plugins. The OP asked for some recommendations for a plugin bundle in the "few hundred dollars" range and I gave him one....

Trackplug is wicked, has everything you're likely to need from a channel strip.

The only thing that's lacking is the spectrum analyser but I use Logic's for that anyway.

Actually, TrackPlug 5 does have a spectrum analyzer built into the EQ display, but it's not on by default, nor is it a very high resolution, but it's still very usable and convenient. The "RTA" (Real-Time Analyzer) button positioned just below the lower right-hand corner of the EQ display toggles it on/off and you can see it in action below:
