Dude, culorut, are you some kind of wide-eyed creep who sits in his parents dark basement scouring through piles of documents muttering endlessly to himself about how the government is trying to implement mind-control devices to the entire population?

Don't forget your tin-foil hat next time.

A microchip is not life-sustaining. Neither is "microchip" or "RFID" mentioned in the bill.

You lose, Colorut.

So it seems you can't read plain English either.

Yes, pacemakers or artificial heart valves are not specifically mentioned in the section; those were examples I provided. What the section does specifically state is "life supporting" and "life sustaining" devices... your chips are neither; subsequently, are out of scope for this section.

The bill clearly states one thing very well, IMPLANTABLE. What they fail to disclose is what "devices" fall under this (their) category.

They define what types of devices they are talking about... RFIDs do not fall into scope. It's seriously laughable that you would expect or suggest that they should list every single device that is implanted into a person for medical proceedures, as the list would be thousands of devices and would change daily, which would require the legislation to change daily.

RFID's can be easily defined as life sustaining/supporting. And if they meant pacemakers or heart valves then they would have mentioned it directly. They only had 1000 pages to kindly squeeze that in somewhere. In fact they could have easily listed all of the devices currently on the market in this bible of a bill.

Again RFID's do fall into this scope unless you can explain how a chip which provides crucial information to doctors/nurses to save your life is not "life sustaining".

This should be entertaining considering they mention it themselves on their TV advert that I posted on the previous page. And just to keep you on tabs the "chip" is already in use saving over a few hundred patients lives in Florida right now.

You should buy, Verichip has no competition and it will become mainstream because it is FDA approved of course.

The bill fails.

Interesting connection between a politician and Verichip (Applied Digital Solutions at the time).

Tommy Thompson

Tommy Thompson, former Secretary of Health and Human Services and one-time candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination. Thompson was in charge of the FDA when it approved the VeriChip for medical purposes in 2004, then went on to become member of the VeriChip board of directors until March 2007.

In public appearances, Thompson has suggested injecting microchips into Americans to link to their electronic medical records, saying:

"It's very beneficial and it's going to be extremely helpful and it's a giant step forward to getting what we call an electronic medical record for all Americans."

Medicare Controversies

After leaving office, Thompson promoted changes to Medicare that some complained would benefit companies Thompson has a financial stake in (including Centene and the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions).

Additionally, while in office, Thompson was involved in a dispute over whether the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services had to share cost estimates to Congress for legislation that would create a prescription drug benefit. Critics accused HHS of downplaying the true cost of the law by $150 billion. CMS Administrator Tom Scully threatened to fire the actuary if he revealed to Congress his estimate. Investigators determined that the data was improperly hidden from Congress, but did not conclude whether laws had been broken.

Wow, that could keep me entertained for weeks. I'm really excited to hear what the paranoid community has to say about the change in stance in mammography recommendations. I'm sure there's a way to throw microchips or H1N1 in there somehow. At least I'm hoping it's that creative, instead of falling back on the old "Communism" or "Socialism" horses.
