You see, even if you move out of LA, you could start it all over from scratch and have a nice life. The problem is that this sort of thing takes time. Instead of changing cities, change your lifestyle. Are you taking your music too seriously? Or is your day job being an obstacle?

Unfortunately, in life you must make positive choices (what you want to do) and negative choices (what you need to ditch) all the time. We always think of the former, but tend to ignore the importance of the latter

Interesting point Lira, you almost hit it on the dot...

I definitely take music VERY seriously, and my day job has certainly become a major obstacle...a bit stressed and annoyed about it all

Sound O fTrance:

It seems to me your problem may be that your life is too predictable, rather than just too convenient. Of course, convenience and predictability often go hand in hand: making your life more predictable, setting it on a schedule, can be part of making it more convenient. An event may be inconvenient because it disrupts the predictability of your usual schedule. Or on the other hand, inserting some inconvenience can mean also inserting some unpredictability.

So a life that seems much less convenient to you can come to have a certain romance of the unknown and unpredictable attached to it. Going to a new place where you know nobody to do a job you have never done before, for example. Only you can decide whether trying to make that romance a reality will be worth it in the end.

so you've never stepped outside of your little L.A. bubble and want to try it?

if you're bored and have nothing tying you down like a relationship or home ownership in L.A. then i say do it.

Why not then just take time off and travel? If he has never been outside of the LA area, he should just move out on his own in LA and travel. This would offer a number of benefits as he wouldn't have to give up his job.

So, it seems you need to "unchoose" something. I'm not saying that you should quit your day job and/or stop producing music altogether, but it's about time you chose to focus on one particular thing. Unless you do that, moving somewhere else won't really make you happy.

From that moment on, I could feel the magik flowing through my veins while listening to the music that Tijs carefully samples and produces. His creativity allows him to develop the concepts of songs that bring life and energy to people around the world.
