Funnily enough my wife and I were thinking of a first visit to the US, and in particular the areas around Seattle, Oregan and the place where the Redwoods grow (N California from memory) as we've always fancied that area. I noticed some of you are in Seattle area.
Partly influenced by films like that one with Tommy Lee Jones chasing one of his old troops around the Richmond area and other films made in that whole vicinity. We like the atmospheric look of the place (well according to the films anyway).
Only thing is my kids and us love being in the sea and could'nt countenance a holiday without a big sea element, and I suspect it's pretty damned cold water there abouts (from memory the Antartic Humbolt current flows up the West coast), so we're in 2 minds although we did wonder whether to tie in with a visit to Santdiago area for say the second week to catch up on sea stuff, but I'ver never seen any pics of beaches there so don't really know. We like uncrowded natural places so I don't mean swimming right off Santiago docks or anything!
