Well don't ask me, I wasn't their
Well how the hardcore scene got less? (it didn't die, only the zwabberscene died)
Well their where some assholes who thought only about the money....so they remixed some old dutch songs and put a little hardcore flavour on them.....brought it out and all the fake gabbers "zwabbers" bought it.......lots of singels reached the number 1, 2 or 3 in the hit-chartz and the underground hardcore got overruled bij those fucked up hardcore.....
After a while their was to much hardcore crap on the hit-lists and the zwabbers didn't bought it any more.....from that time people said "Hardcore is death"...but it wasn't..the underground scene still had his gabbers

Gabber was really a spinoff of Hardcore. It got big in 1994-1995 then sorta died. It still exists in fringe pockets in belgium and holland. Happy Hardcore (so i'm told) does well at raves here. Tho, i don't care because it's the devil's music.

Just one thing I'd like to add. 'Gabber' is not a substream of the hardcore sound. It's - it was actually - a way of life. A great deal of gabbers had their own rules, like shaving their heads, wearing 'Aussies' (Australian shoes & jogging suits) and they even had their own greet. So a gabber is more a person who likes, loves and breathes hardcore (techno) music.
