Thanks Alanzo and everyone else who commented.

I was just on the fence with what would logically be the best decision right now.

I've seen people on the access.de forums who owned a ti for 3 years before they got it working right. And its crazy some of the things people try that winds up actually working.

But the one guy who mentioned the mobo thing really nailed it on the head imo. The reason I say that is because I have seen people who own near carbon copy setups, but one persons snow works and the other doesn't. And the only thing that wasn't the same was the mobo. So I'm gonna go with my gut on this and keep it simple.

Nova Musik got back and said they'll give me 15 more days to make up my mind for a full refund. And I don't know why this didn't cross my head before but I'm glad I made this thread now.
I have an old computer in my garage that was originally what I started producing on.
It still works great I just have no purpose for it. So I'm gonna do 2 things.
Reformat the computer I use now, reinstall windows and see if I can finally update to FL 9. If I can I'm gonna reinstall virus control and see if it works. If FL doesn't update I'm gonna retry anway w/out version 9.

Then 2, I'm taking that computer out of my garage tommorow to see if the virus works on it. If worse comes to worse and it does work, I'll simply keep 2 pcs in my room and use one for the virus and one for everything else. But at least now I have a plan that I think might work. If it doesn't, ti goes back then.

i told robby that in the thread he started before he bought it...

and also told him about plugin-delay-compensation which can kind of fix the problem...

but of course he didn't listen to either of my relevant points

Of course he didn't listen to you and I'll tell you why. You don't own a TI, you don't use FL and you don't exist.

I own a Polar TI and I own FLS9 (but don't really use it), so maybe he'll listen to me. The TI works fine for me (aside from the occasional minor synce issue already mentioned and some other hiccups associated with various OS releases) and has since Day 1 with Sonar, Cubase, and Ableton. From everything I've seen and read (and the few times I tried it), the TI does NOT work with FLS. So, as I see it, you have three options:

1) buy a DAW that supports the TI (you can still ReWire FLS into the new DAW or use it as a VST)
2) return the Snow
3) keep them both and deal with neverending issues

Ok this is by far the largest improvement I've made since getting the virus.
Currently just as of today the latency has been removed about 98% and I got it to record with absolutely no pops, clicks or added distortions.

Access wrote back and mentioned something I remembered reading in the manual, but obviously did not digest as I read it.

The Virus Snow DOES NOT "export to wav" in FL Studio. Apparently it wasn't made to work like that. In order to record the virus in FL you have to record it as an insert "virus in" in the specific channel you want to record.

I do record like that seldomly but rarely as well, w/e the case it works absolutely perfect like it should and does not distort or add artifacts to anything. I do not mind working like this at all as long as the virus records I'm less concerned with how. The sound it there and thats all I was worried about.

And the last issue was the terrible latency which is *apparently fixed as well. I dropped my pc off at my brothers house today (hes a computer engineer but doesn't know shit about DAWs so I didn't think he could fix it) and he called me back in 45mins and said he fixed it (mind you I've been trying for 3 weeks lol). He said hes gonna format the hardrive anyway then show me what setting fixes the latency (it was the usb not sure exactly what he did though). Anyway this is over, I'm fucking ecstatic. I've been going back and forth with this crap for a while, all I wanna do is produce now, theres nothing left to sort out with the virus.

I'll confirm tommorow that the latency is 98% gone like he said, and I'll also write exactly what he did so people know to try, then I'll update the Access forums.
Tommorow will be the first day I'll be able to record with this thing so I'm psyched. Alanzo made the comment the ti is something that does everything and excells at nothing and I personally think thats a load of crap, sorry Alanzo. Maybe in comparison to something thats true analog like Andromeda. (which isn't even a fair comparison) but I do believe the Virus excells at many things, as well as having its weaknesses like any synth... thanks

I'm not sure how you define "not listening".
You told me about PDC in FL and I thanked you did I not?

You told me it doesn't go well with Fl Studio but thats a generalization made on a single subject population (you) and in research it wouldnt mean shit. I went to other forums and saw plenty of people complaining about issues in Abelton, Sonar, and Cubase as well. Which made me believe you simply regurgiated a myth you heard.

Now the only other thing that could possibly be "relevant" (because its the only other thing you have SAID to me in the last few weeks) was that this thread is silly.
I don't consider that relevant.

So once again you are 100% full of shit. At this point, because this happens so often. You're going on the ignore list. You give me 1 solid piece of advice, and then you go on a weeklong escapade of insults. This is how you've been ever since I joined, lets not make this personal, I would just really like for you to pretend I don't exist, same way your TI doesn't exist.

My recommendation is to upgrade to a real daw that supports external instruments and can compensate for their latency. Once you do this, you can use the TI like an actual instrument and have the USB just for MIDI and for the VSTi -- use the analog audio outs and there will no longer be any latency or popping/clicking issues.

Thanks Alanzo that would prob be my best bet to start where I left off with Ableton. With the Snow working now to a tolerable extent I may stick with FL for a bit longer. (I put the fix a little higher up)

But at some point I still wanna get a true analog piece of kit so maybe around summertime that will be my next move.
I also posted this thread public because I value your advice and think anything you say should BE public to begin lol.

So now if anyone is in my position at least this conversation is there for them if they look. Thanks!

I wasn't really thinking ableton. I don't believe Ableton has much support for external instruments, but I *know* FL doesn't. I was thinking something more like Cubase, Sonar, Logic. I believe that if you're going to use any other DAW, you're best off sticking completely in the box. Not that completely in the box is a bad thing. Arturia's JP8V can compete quite well with the Andromeda and just about any decent VSTi can compete with the Virus.
