Good point, I have noticed a lot more "New Agey" women than men in my experience.

I go to church for Easter and Christmas plus sometimes on a random Sunday and say the prayers but more so to keep mum and her family happy and also out of tradition. The vast majority of Croats are recorded as Catholics (even though most couldn't care less) so it's a big tradition.

Plus the Catholic faith actually goes in line with and is accepting of the agnostic viewpoint.

I think it would be a worth study to examine whether women really are more religious than men. Although, it's the men who overwhelmingly control religion, so it would seem like a strange paradox.

That's just what their wives would like for them to think.

my dad is a complete atheist.
my mom claims to not believe in religion but she always talks about 'God' and 'praying' for things like someones health, work, etc.. she just seems to believe in God deep down inside but i don't give her shit for it.

It was a tough one for me to decide, but ultimately I went with equally religious. They're both ardent believers and pray quite often, though you wouldn't think so if you had a casual conversation with either of them. My dad goes to church every Sunday, but never really talks about it in normal conversations. My mother rarely ever attends a service, but will typically reference praying to God and "God's plan" during certain conversations.

faithless religion rubs me the wrong way tbh... if you 'kind of' believe i reckon that's just blasphemy... people who, for example fast on religious holidays, but have no idea what they're fasting for, or people who go to church but don't take it seriously really annoy me...

especially for the catholics who are all symbols, and literal interpretations...

i don't understand how catholics could allow agnosticism... transubstantiation, mixed with the need for a middle man simply to interact with god all reaks of withcraft, and pre-historic mysticisms to me... as least protestantism, with it's focus on a personal relationship with god possibly incorporate agnostics since there's no need for external stimuli to achieve spiritual revelations...

plus unbaptised babies going to hell and shit... catholics haven't ever heard of metaphor, or compromise they follow absolutes.

Ah, it's women's way of controlling the men. Genius.

Yea well what can I say, bad luck. The religious views of others don't interest me in the slightest. In fact, the world would be a better place if everyone kept their religious beliefs to themselves unless asked.

my mom knows religion is total bullshit and we make fun of theists together. my dad doesn't subscribe to any religion, but he is superstitious. he was raised to believe in afterlife and luck. otherwise happily most of my family looks at religion as a joke on the stupid. my aunt is buddhist, but i can respect that.

i believe there is a second question we need to ask to the people who replied in this thread....where are you guys from? because i think US people are way more religious then europeans (especially Belgium, holland, france, germany don't know about other countries really)
to be honest, i actually dont know anyone who goes to church anymore (except for old people)
I once knew a guy who prayed before every meal... everybody thought it was strange and they laughed with the guy for being such a nutcase
