Its not a Sea Shepherd film...but yeah its really powerful and worth a watch (its available to stream online as well).


I whole heartedly disagree with what the Japanese are doing...Yes you can say its Tradition but that doesn't make it right...

Isn't it one of the Laws of the Sea or some shit that smaller, more agile craft shall give right of way to larger, less agile craft?

I don't agree with the whaling either, but the crew of the batmobile fucked up here. Now their fancy boat is toast, and for what?

Just to throw a few "What ifs" into it.

When you watch the Top video, it really does look as if the Japanese boat turns to hit the Ady Gil (Bat boat). It looks like its going to pass by it then makes the turn and is on top of it all in about 3-4 seconds.

The bat boat looked still in the water. WHAT IF there was no body at the controls of the boat? You know, just popped out the back or took there eyes off the boat for a few seconds...then they wouldn't have been able to manouvere out of the way.

As I say, the is just speculation. I would not be overly suprised if Sea shepherd got blamed or if the Japanese did...

they have done nothing wrong with killing the whales....I may not agree with what they are doing but the smart little nippers found a loop hole and they are taking advantage of it.

All the problems start with the whale lovers being there for no other reason then to stop a perfectly legal killing of whales.

Once again...if they want to stop the killing then they need to find a way to close the loop hole...not waste money doing these useless and illegal acts.

It looks to me like they try to avoid the collision. The other boat deliberately put itself in harms way by getting that close to a larger ship anyhow.

If I remember....the sea sheppard hit one of the japanese ships prior to this so I guess its just pay back.

well, we'll have to disagree there. it looks like they make at least a couple of course changes designed to hit the other boat. but yeah, you wont find me arguing that the hippies were putting themselves at risk.

that too would be easy for me to believe. imo the video is rather damning of a deliberate ramming accident.
