I think its almost missing the point though, I personally think he had a great idea of dropping the right tracks at the right time with a good degree of technical ability.
considering that the world's best turtablists scour the basements of record shops for stuff even including country music, i would conclude that you are in fact no expert.
if you can make country sound good, you could do it with trance even if they are at about the same level of horrible.

Like I said in my post in the MD, I don't think Eddie confesses to be a great turntablist, the tricks he does just add a bit extra to his sets, and back in 2002 it definitely worked for him giving him that edge. Hes aiming at a completlely different audience. And purists who appreciate technical skills on a turntable would most definitly not appreciate it, in fact, possibly feel a bit embarassed by it!!
It isn't just about scratching.
