cribby - that's my favourite review of yours in a while!! you hit every point SPOT ON, and even threw in some good adjectives here and there pretty much everything i have to say about the event you touched on

got in around 12:45am, lineup was QUICK, searching was QUICK, so far so good...coat check lineup was a bit of a bottleneck as usual lol. while waiting in line to coat check i could hear the deep bass rolling in from the main room and new right away it was martinez bros!! walked in and right away could tell the DIVERSE crowd that have joined us on this wonderful nigth I absolutely love docks parties and the crowds it draws!! i agree with margz it was probably my favourite docks crowd ever, and the amount of people in attendance was PERFECT, not too crowded, not too thinned out, we all had just enough dance room to get our grooves on and not get shoved around like a bunch of fish in a holding tank

got into main room, went over to the right side by the bar to meet up with our crew....went to get drinks and was shocked to find out that a tall-boy of moosehead was only $5 whoaaaaaa cheap beer!! that's always a treat to find at the beginning of a night...

i gotta say, without a doubt, that the martinez brother's gets the "most impressive set" of the night for me - they absolutely KILLLLLLLED it. i would describe a lot of their tracks as big room deep tech-tribal house lol - i didn't have high expectations for them so i was pleasantly surprised at the party tunes they were dropping!! watching them up on the stage with so much energy and finesse created an even better party vibe - the one guy was soooooo young!!

perfect openers for miss honayyyyy dijonnnnn! she came on and started some ass shaking house and got us thrusting our pelvises in every way possible i listened to about half of her set which was good, but didn't get into it as much as at solstice last year, but that's probably cuz she didn't play nearly as much tribal as last year, but its ok.........because.....

I GOT MY TRIBAL FIX IN LIBERATION LOUNGE!!!! OMG as soon as i walked in and heard addy dropping some serious tunes i just dropped myself and proceeded to head to the front and jam in front of addy. i didn't have a problem being in here till honey finished herself off

track after track, addy had liberation lounge in the palm of his hands, smacking us around with his basslines and percussion ringing in our ears...then...i fucking lost it when he dropped this track

Filthy Rich - Arumba (Original Mix)

i couldn't contain myself, i took on the cribby snake dance and we'll leave it at that for now lol

after addy finished me off i proceeded to walk back into the main room and could tell honey was done as i could hear some reaaaaaaaaaally creepy/dark prog echoing through the doorways...satoshi!! everyone is completely right about satoshi, he was unreal, best prog set i've heard in a LONG TIME, and not only that, it was his evil/dark sound that really got me!!

all in all, i had a BLAST, 9.5/10 party. every dj played amazing, absolutely no complaints at all.

really cant wait for the next docks party, they always have me waiting like a 3yr old boy waitin for next christmas!

ye yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

This was by far one of the best events at “the docks” that I have been to. The music from each of the headliners were either what I had expected, or more. The set up of the main room was quite minimal which was nice for a change. No glitz and glamour. We were there to dance. The strobes became a little too wild at times, but other than that no complaints. Spent the entire night in the main room, except for one step into the back lounge to sit down. Couldn’t stay because the music was just not that good. Even though there was a mix of musical styles everything pulled together perfectly. After each DJ finished, there was a quiet pause, a thank you and the next DJ started. It was as if a new party started each time… and it worked so well.

Martinez Brothers – These boys have some serious energy and a lot of great tunes. It was nice to be able to do some ass shaking from the start of the night. As Cribby mentioned, some of their songs were a little too big room but lead to a energetic vibe from the start of the party… always leading in to a deep bass drop.

Honey Dijon – Never disappoints. Miss Honey was on fire. Bangin’ Chicago style house which just kept getting harder as the set went on. Her lead in to Satoshi was perfect. Then the lights cut down. Back lights came up.

It was time for Satoshi…. From the first track he dropped I was captured by this man. His set had such a perfect flow from start to finish. The brooding sinister driving prog just melted me into the dance floor. I could have listened to him for hours. Too bad it had to stop at 6. Some of his transitions completely floored me, leaving me speechless. Its not often I stop dancing and just applaud the DJ during his/her set. Satoshi deserved it. He played exactly the intense music I love to hear; the prog train was out and had a conductor driving us full force into the underworld with a sound track of Pure Raw Beats.

Yes to a SECOND amazing party this weekend! Win win!! Seriously love partying at the Docks, it's such a nice change from the regular weekend circuit! I found the music in both the main room and Liberation lounge to be right on all night. At points I found it hard to choose which room to be in, so I felt like I was running back and fourth. The Martinez Brothers were absolutely amazing. Serious party tunes to get everyone moving! I think I enjoyed dancing to this set the most over the span of the night, just too much fun! Honey Dijon started out her set really nicely but lost me halfway through. I just don't ever seem to be able to get into her completely. She plays some tracks that really get me grooving but I usually just end up getting kind of bored. Which is why I spent a good chunk of that time with Addy. WOW can this guy kill it. He played some serious drummy bangers. I'm pretty sure it was impossible to stand still while in that room, definitely one of the best parts of the night for me. However, the set that left the biggest impression on me was Satoshi Tomiie. Slow and progressive is the exact definition of what I dislike in EDM (or so I thought?). But Satoshi was absolutely incredible. The intensity in that room while he was up there was ridiculous. Crazy lights (maybe a bit too much strobe near the end) added to the dark, driving tunes he was playing. Overall, a very successful night with a nice variety of music. Can't wait to party at the Docks again!!

Arrived at 3 to my first Miss Honey Dijon set. For the most part I really enjoyed it. Definitely want to check out a FW set from her. I was only able to catch a small bit of Joee Cons in Liberation Lounge but his set had me moving. Addy was on after and was just fucking mental. For the love of god this guy was KILLING it! I DESPERATELY want to see this guy return to Comfort Zone because I missed 'the addy era'.
I officially blame Addy for making me not able to enjoy Satoshi to the full extent. Although he played a set I thought was fantastic, I just wasn't able to get fully into it after listening to Addy play so hard. Damn you, Addy! Damn youuuuuuuuuuu!!

told ya so :P

Seems like most of the reviews on here covered the bases, except I have to add that Switch was up to his wobbly tricks in the back room and he was havin' a blast playin for that small yet energetic crowd. And the same goes for Pat Mahoney and Andy Butler, droppin' some spacy trippy house music that was full of groove.

Fun fun fun all around Sat night!
