yeah. except donatella was able to take over.

in this instance there wasn't anyone in the wings waiting and training. versace was already an empire with many designers doing the work.

The thing about this brand was that it was very fashion forward and unique....and it was like that because of McQueen. He was the visionary behind it that will be hard, if not impossible to replace. Even if someone were to take over the brand, I doubt it could be the same.

every designer has a team of highly trained assistants - I'm sure he picked pretty talented peeps to work for him too
