all your euros saying trance is only good if it comes from an european producer shut your smelly mouths...damn you guys are gay...i will agree that many of the top djs and producers are from europe but compared to the u.s trance is much more dominated...in the u.s, hip hop and alternative music is pretty much the thing to listen to and i know there are people and europe that are trying to become hip hop artists or alternative musicians...and what do you tell those guys eh? "sorry hip hop is american only...so stop because your music sucks?" ignorant people up in here..

Max Graham, Delerium and BT are the only North American electronica producers I appreciate, and two of them are Canadian

Big Ears hmmm

What about Andain-Summer Calling ? And any choon by Josh Gabriel, he's from San Francisco for all I know, even if his stuff sounds mad Dutch.

Christopher Lawrence is boring imo , i saw him at Exit NYC and fell asleep. Then Judge Jules came on and tore the shit apart.

I also love Deep Dish and Mark Farina? Yes, the coolest dub house ever.

I think the problem is that most of you are all hooked to your pvd, avb, corsten, du monde, gielen, tiesto, etc etc .....

and that's all you listen to , and unfortunately , I don't see how most of the people on this site could help new djs grow cause most of you are all about the star djs
that's a little sad, and the people affected by my words are defenitely goin to be the "fans"

mmm, cant think of any American trance offhand... although I'm sure some exists. There's some American pop trance, I know that for sure. Nebulous records is based in Florida, for the Floridian dance scene, which is rooted in Miami Bass & Freestyle.

I know for sure there's american synthpop though.

Trance is European music, and it's about European culture...

I disagree. Some Americans might be able to produce quality trance. It just so happens in America, if you play a synth, you are dead last in line to be signed. Over here we dont sign people who play synths, we sign people who sing, and hire studio synth players to play for them. It's a cultural difference, and a sucky one at that.

I think there are definitely people in the US talented enough with synths to play trance, but they dont play trance, they write pop songs.

Alot of you have mentioned BT - but hes just 1 Dj/Artist/Producer that has stood out from the list of pretty proggy Djs.

I mean, im going to anyway fall into the stereotype - but generally i think American Djs have alot of potential to play wikid trance stuf but trance just doesnt seem to be "breaking the market".

The United States is a tough shell to break, many of the listeners are "creatures of comfort" and listen to only what they know and like and refuse (generally speaking) to acknowledge other genres of music.

As well as that, look at the fkn American government!

They have been cracking down for monthes on raves/rave like activity and petty paraphenalia - this is where the root of the problem is!

Why would Djs get into a style of music that they rightfully know they're not going to be able to play/spinn at clubs or raves because their name & reputation would ultimately be brought down with this ludacrist "Anti-Rave" policy - its a fkn joke and its oppression - who the fuck are they to stop people from what they enjoying doing.

They should be fkn chasing event organizers but the root of the problem which where the influx of drugs comes through...by stopping people and Djs from enjoying what they do then the government is merely fueling a fire that very very soon is going to be uncontrollable - a revolt will spawn and from it many will learn that no one fucks with the massive - the one massive.

Please dont get me wrong - i am in total support of the United States often in its entirity - i mean i was fkn brought up in Canada and the United States for 12 years before i moved to Australia.
But this anti-rave legislation or whatever distinguised name its recievd is fucked.

JOSH GABRIEL
is from SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA!
Andain-summer calling? Any of the Gabriel and Dresden remixes. That's the best american trance producer, no doubt.
