Interesting.

Anyone care to run pink noise through their xone, have the output go to a sequencer/wave editor with a spectrum analyzer and kill the low EQ?

Here's the pink noise file:

Are there any spectrum analysers that are free out there?

If you have an iPhone, there's an app called RTA which is an analyzer. The full app is $11.99 USD. There's also RTA Lite which is free, it gives you just an analyzer. Pretty accurate for an iPhone. I've used it at gigs before in a pinch.

IMO Allen & Heath DJ mixers have the best eq. A&H Dj mixer technology comes from their pro line of mixing consoles. I just wish they weren't so frickin expensive.

Denon I would say would be second for eq. Once again just my opinion.

Don't use an iphone app - never going to be accurate, even for home purposes (all these people got the sound meter app and we're going "my local club puts out 85db" - no shit, that's becuase the limit of the shit built in mic tops out there.).

If you on a PC, wavelab, soundforge, audition/cooledit, cubase all have them.

on mac, bias peak, audacity and dsp quattro have them.

Also just google some, I'm sure some others would come up.

Mine works fine. I've even compared to what Smarrt was seeing. Pretty damn close. Not 100% but doesn't suck either. My mic goes beyond 85. I got mine to read 120 clean. Obviously these folks don't know what they're doing.

I brought up the app because it was the first thing that popped in my head. I wouldn't suggest using it to tune Carnegie Hall or something.
