I really enjoyed this, especially track 8. I had to stop the mix immediately so I could go find it on beatport lol.

So I finally got a chance to give this a listen on the drive home this morning, and overall thought it was pretty good. The first three were a great opener, and everything after the Jimpster mix of "Jus Right" gave me the chunky-monkey little boost I needed to get my morning started and deal with construction/rush hour traffic in Milwaukee. If I had any complaints, it's that I was a bit ambivalent towards the middle bits with the Tejada, Loco Dice, and Hemman tunes - but it wasn't super off-putting, just not my favorite part. Nice to see Asad Risvi as well.

All in all the disc is staying in my car. Well in.

i agree, in fact the Tejada track is my least favorite, just something I had lying around after purchase and figured might as well use it. but, to be honest, i actually ended up trashing the tune since, just not impressed with it and don't know what i actually saw in it.

the loco dice rmx was a step down from the direction i was heading, i love the original and the Punks Jump Up Remixes, so I wanted to include a bit of that "flavor" into this set, but it just didn't work at that point.

However the Hemmann track is a beast if used properly... i think I just surrounded it by trash and should've brought it in earlier.

thanks for listening homie, i've been chilling with your latest for a while just have yet to get around and do a proper write up. that's forthcoming, like for real.

and actually, back to the Tejada tune -

Has anyone fallen into the trap of trusting an artist and buying a track without really listening to the whole thing? like, I saw Tejada and just listened to the preview but really didn't pay attention and just bought it because i've trusted tejada's productions in the past... it turned out to be garbage tho.

All the time, in fact I'd say that's happened to me with Tejada quite a bit the last few years.

Unfortunately even some of our favorite producers over the long-term wind up moving in directions that don't suit our tastes, and eventually we part ways in terms of musical/stylistic taste. For me, it's usually a bit of a drawn out progression, and I'm generally still buying their music for quite some time (giving them the "benefit of the doubt", for lack of a better term) until I finally make up my mind that they just don't do it for me anymore.

Paranoia & Sweat On The Walls were, what seems like, a long time ago, now.

Sideshow - Scary Biscuits (John Tejada Remix) and Technasia - Evergreen (John Tejada Remix) are beloved to me to this very day.
