ironic thou cause both those situations happened to me earlier this year with my girl. actually shes in Indonesia right now (the period thing happened just after she told me she was leaving for an "undetermined amount of time") well shes been there for 3 months and i still don't know when shes coming back... sometime this month i think. i dont really know
