I don't think I see any elitist attitude in this thread. What I do see, however, is a lot of great advice that you should seriously consider. |
Ugh I try to for the most part, and I'm still dealing with haters so It's definitely a good start. I've tried keeping it civil by simply rhymin' the hate away. I actually feel better when I smash down some lyrics without going back and editing them.
Also can't help letting it flow out like that, most of this i'm not really thinking about and am just typing down without going back...I actually had alot of fun in this thread despite that guy, so yeah... I don't take anything personally but I feel that I do have the right to get mad, and that when I do my art tends to be more focused and more sincere.
It's also been pretty rough lately for me in general *shrug*. (And maybe all that Richard and I needs, is a manly man sized hug)
I'll also have to post a picture of myself in the "Pics of yourself" thread, I'm actually somewhat of a cracka. But the one genre I haven't been able to get into was hip-hop and dubstep. (I want to dub it so bad) And I'm trying to get into the music by immersing myself in it,(even changing up my look) while maintaining who I am.
So I'll be taking what I've learned, taking all of this rage and emotion and putting into a song. As I said, all I've been doing is taking feedback, messing with my tracks, doing my research and improving.

@ Richard, I also agree that some hiphop lyrics are garbage, but you should seriously have a listen to Whiskey Blanket on Youtube, they are a huuuuge up and coming band in Boulder Colorado and have some of the sickest lyrics that hit very close to home for me...I'm also white as white can be, so I'm a little bit smoother lyrically, and I don't care about bitches and hoes, or where my dick goes, I just flow naturally.

Anyway rofl, I'd almost want to say thanks for playing rather than thanks for the feedback...In anycase, I'll lay off picking away at the criticism in the future (Although I still enjoy critiquing critique) as it seems to actually work the other way around and piss off the people commenting.
