Yeah, I think what Blueman has done is brilliant. I believe he has something new coming out soon, I'm excited to see what it's like.
I can tell the difference between the newer overproduced poppy shit and older trance for sure, this thread has certainly helped me finalize that fine line. I enjoy some of the new shit for sure, though. Even if it is overproduced and uplifting, a lot of it isn't too overly poppy and crappy and is actually pretty well made. Some newer Above & Beyond comes to mind, etc.

Too lazy to go back and see who suggested Arksun, but you are a god, because he is brilliant. It's too bad he doesn't put on actual sets or put out music more often, but he's brilliant none-the-less.
As far as poppy songs being well made, I agree too. I'd say John O'Callaghan's music comes off as rather poppy sometimes and a lot of his songs are great. Even the new Tiesto album has some good songs on it, and he went ultra-mainstream with that.
