Taxi's got a nice bassline but it sounds rather simple to make, compared to Robbie's which has much more going on in it.. Might not be as clean but I'm sure you could learn more tricks from Robbie's than something trying to replicate Taxi's.

Love the rest of it, but relying on the TB303 sounding synth as the indicated bass-line - It didn't have enough of a presence for me. I would add a sine-wave with a short attack/short decay, directly underneath it, following the TB303/acid MIDI with no effects - but that's what I'd do.

Yeah an example would be helpful, but don't worry about it. Its not that important. I'm not really into trance anymore, so it may be something I just haven't heard before or something new they are doing.

I'm not entirely certain what you mean here. It sounds like you suggesting that you add reverb to a bass part to increase its stereo width in order to not conflict with a centered kick? Because that's what I am reading from the above.

It's definitely not a mythical phrase. There is a definite point at which I know "yeah, that's the sound I want". I guess it's just something you learn with experience. I'm not really sure how I can explain it any better so I won't try.

I dont know, but I just kind of get the impression that you have some strange misconceptions about things that you may or may not have heard on these and other forums. I was just trying to dispel those impressions and maybe help out a bit.
