Also read this thread and there are some others out there...

I agree with the others, start small and don't expect to not take some hits. They help you learn.

Heh, I remember thinking what a dumb move it was for me to buy Lulemon ages ago only to have it drop over 75%...and now it's recovered, I'm glad I didn't bail but I'm surprised it recovered the way it did.

I don't know too many non speculative stocks that have increased 1000% (from $4 to 44) in essentially the last year. It is an incredible story (that investors are paying a lot for at current levels, unfortunately).

I just checked with Google Finance, there was only 20 stocks that went up 1000% in 52 weeks.

if you put your money in basically anything in april, you were pretty much guaranteed a 100% gain.
