There isn't much info on this site about the L.E.D. party with Max Graham. So I will fill everyone in. For those of you that don't know who Max Graham is. Graham was born in London, England and lived in Spain, New York City and Los Angeles before settling in Ottawa in 1989. At age 15 in 1986, he began as a hip-hop and scratch DJ before discovering and falling in love with the house music scene between 1992 and 1994. Max was also instrumental in the creation of the famous Atomic club in Ottawa, and his weekly 6 hour sets at Atomic are the stuff of legend among fans. Max exploded onto the producing scene with the releases of “Airtight” and “Tell You,” both of which became international hits. Airtight was nominated for a Juno Award in 2001. This success got some attention from the world dance music scene and Graham was asked to mix Transport CD #4, which was also met with huge success, and spurred a world tour in 2001. This rapid rise in attention led Graham to be voted into spot number 23 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list, the highest entry for a newcomer in 2001. His distinctive style remains difficult to pin down, covering genres like house, progressive, techno, disco, and trance to name just some. During a Graham performance, a collection of different sounds can be heard in every aspect of the tracks being played: the bass, rhythms, and melodies constantly change and energize the audience and dancers at Graham’s sets.

Max Graham has consistantly blown me away every time I have seen him in Toronto. I was originally planning on this party until the boat cruise popped up.
It will be interesting to see if he will keep to his new sound which is very trance influenced or if he will resort back to what he was playing the last couple years house/prog. Trance just seems strange at a techno fesitval party.

Resolute presents Vakant vs Dumb Unit + More @ TV Lounge - Sun. Night, May 30th
A tradition has begun-after two consecutive years of tearing up Detroit's dance floors; we are once again making our way to the city where it all started. For this year, our third, we have secured a North American debut of the world renowned showcase Dumb Unit vs. Vakant. Both of these labels are home to some of the most ground-breaking artists out there, and have both been consistently releasing high quality music. Dumb Unit will be represented by the label's head honcho Jeremy P. Caulfield, along with recent Berlin transplant and musical wonder Elon. Alex Smoke, who is known for his unique blend of dub techno and minimal, will represent Vakant along with Dario Zenker. Whether or not you've had the opportunity to hear these guys rock it as a team, you've at least definitely heard the buzz about their highly acclaimed events! So on Sunday, May 30th, 2010 starting at 11pm come and join us for this festive night into the Monday morning Shenanigans. The location is still to be announced, so check back soon. In the mean time you can get your $15 advanced tickets while supplies last, but don’t wait as they will sell out very soon! More artists are to be announced as well!!!
At a time when so much techno feels like endless variations on a played-out theme, it’s heartening to know that there are still a handful of artists, labels and DJs who can combine experience, skill and forward-looking ideals in style. Step forward Jeremy P. Caulfield, who amply ticks all of the above boxes. As proprietor of leading neuro-minimal imprint Dumb-Unit, DJ of widely-acclaimed repute, and occasional producer of stripped-back, ominous dancefloor bombs, Jeremy has emerged from his early days on the Canadian techno circuit to become a leading light of today’s underground club scene. Using his fifteen years of DJing experience as a springboard, Jeremy has utilised Dumb-Unit as a pivotal platform for the blossoming careers of artists including Elon, Butane, Lee Curtiss, Sweet N’ Candy and Seph, loosely defining a hinterland micro-scene of murky, intricate sounds that play with the darkest recesses of the mind while remaining firmly attached the propulsive drive of the dance-floor. Elon is what we like to call a music wonder. He has numerous releases to his name on some of the best Labels out there; such as Dumb Unit, Clink, Made To Play and many others. After many years of living in New York City and over the years holding residencies at Sullivan Room and currently still with ReSolute, Elon has decided to move to Berlin. He has been very busy lately with delivering remixes, new releases and also coping with his constant touring schedule. Keep your eyes and ears pealed open for this young gent, as he will keep putting out great music and definitely keep you dancing if you catch him play at one of the clubs around the world.
As a producer, Alex Smoke is a makes electronic records that blur together European minimalism, pop structures and emotional strings and pads. He has released two full length albums, ‘Incommunicado’ and 'Paradolia' [Soma Records] and a slew of singles and remixes. His electronic debut arrived in 2002, but Smoke has always been immersed in music. Out in the clubs, Smoke both DJs and performs live. His DJ agenda is perhaps best represented by ‘Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi Vol. 3’ [2006], which combined a fascination with dub techno, classic Detroit (Smoke is not adverse to playing old records at all) and new European minimal techno. Similar leanings are evident on his podcast for RA; Smoke finds space for Luciano-end minimal, German schaffel as well as a chunk of shimmering dub techno cuts. Dario Zenker has grown in the course of the time into an inherent part in matter of innovative, electronic music. The inhabitant of munich is active in the scene for many years and a full blood musician. What confused us in the legendary and musically pedagogic „green room“ of Munich’s ultraschall years ago, the modern artist packs it up stimulatingly, unconventionally and brings it on the main floor. Whether live played or mixed, Dario controls his audience. His sets are much multi-sided, sometimes more techno and sometimes more housy, but always with a lot of sense for the crowd and a unique groove.
This is not to be missed as this is an exclusive New York and Detroit-only Tour!
