This was a great movie, though I have always viewed La Femme Nikita as a sequel. It makes a ton of sense in that respect - Matilda obviously just goes by Nikita when she is older, falls into a bad crowd, etc.
Nah. Way too much coincidence that a girl raised by an assassin grows up and ends up trained as an assassin. That's like Annakin Skywalker building C3PO.
My favourite scene in Leon by far is the bit where Stansfield has gone into the apartment and all his goons are covering the doorway. As he steps out into the hallway in front of them they all flinch like cowards. It just sums up the humour and humanity Luc Besson brought to the genre.
