First... you're a top 40 DJ... GTFO...
Second... you've never heard of CD's???
Fuck even the new CDJ's read memory sticks...
You're making excuses for your inability to mix...
Don't compare the ppl on this board with ppl who go to your lame ass top 40 parties... |
You proved my point - you're elitist with a big ego.
Why are you making assumptions? I said people dont know what mixing is, I didnt say I cant mix well. I can mix well - no problem, if its the same genre. But I am often required to change music genres on the fly, every 3-4 songs, hence its not that smooth mixing from Young Money to Down With Webster.
People like you are just a bunch of elitists. TOP40 is inferior to whatever-you-listen-to, eh. Whatever keeps you asleep at night, sure.
Besides, who says that I love TOP 40 music? Thats what MOST people listen to, so in order for me to DJ I have to play what people want to hear. If you want to hear progressive house and 99% of people in the crowd want Lady Gaga - sorry, you lose. I do some underground parties, for oldskool & newer trance, house, even retro/80s, but those are rare because very few people listen to underground electronic music. And if I played that at parties, I wouldn't get invited again. So if I was at a TOP 40 party, and you asked me to play some Armin or Andy Tau or whatever else, I would politely say NO. Or else I would never be invited to DJ that house party again. As for music preference - I listen to musicians which you have probably never heard of, ok? Seminal electronic music, circa 1976-1996. You can assume whatever you want.
I buy original CDs and vinyls, but I prefer to use 1200's with Traktor interface. I dont use CDJ's, I dont find that as fun, I think using turntables-based system is closer to a true DJ feel.
