this thread explains everything about why the OP is currently, and will always be, a creepy fucking bastard.

here's some advice- quit being such a creepy fuck and maybe you'll finally be able to make some friends.

When I was 24 I didn't feel old but I didn't feel young in the sense that I should be out partying every weekend and blah blah blah. That lasted a couple of years and then I started to travel more and go out again. I realized that you can still go out and have fun...just a different kind of fun...it was no longer filled with getting drunk and doing stupid things. When I turned 30 the partying slowed right down and going out became more about hanging out with friends that you hadn't seen in awhile. Now with 36 just a few days away I have a few close friends that I hang out with and going to clubs is something that doesn't really seem important....sure I've gone out a couple times and enjoyed myself...the part I hate is actually getting motivated and ready to go out.

You can pick up new hobbies or renew a love with an old hobbies. I just got back ito Remote Control Cars after I don't know how many years....its amazing how different they are now.

some regrets and a whole lot of apprehension, so many of the things i was obsessed with when i was younger, or thought that i could keep doing (like going to bars hoping to get laid ), i now see as pointless. but i haven't found anything yet to take their place, which is what worries me so much i want to find hobbies, activities, things to do that will take up all of my time, and somehow make me happy and feel like i'm doing something meaningful, but why is it so hard?

TAs in/around that age bracket, are you or did you go through anything similar, and how did you deal with it (or how are you dealing with it?)

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
