I love this bullshit. I've worked with the guys at metropolis (who are serious pros) and here in LA I've done a few sessions at the studio with some heavyweight/famous EDM producers and not one of them could properly use the desk in front of them. You can see by the way people act whether they're comfortable with the equipment and these guys are squirming, hard.

They loooooove having their photos or video taken in front of SLL's or Euphonix desks but when you ask them to use it they suddenly get all shy

I mean look at that video - three guys in front of a what looks to be at least a 196 channel mixing desk and they're all huddled around a single macbook. Add the obligatory, "push a button pose" (and the button he's pushing there is just the monitor select switch as told to him by the house engineer) and viola, instant studio cred. The more I watch it the more I can see how nervous they are of being in a studio.

I think anyone that has ever spent time in a pro studio environment can spot them faking it - I mean, at least get some automation going and pretend to fiddle with the eq.

you guys should see the steve angello fm video from a few years back, it takes him 10 minutes or so to quantize a simple whole note string section, it's pretty pathetic, amazed he made it so far by being such a tool and a moron. proves how important it is to create a brand for yourself to make it or break it in the music world.

I was going to point that same thing out when I 1st saw they vid. They are in a huge studio yet they are huddled around a mac on logic. It doesnt look good. As steve says they are only there for the compressor lol.

That said I dont hate these guys, but can understand how people can.
