Bzzzt! That’s the wrong answer. The correct answer for your average wheat beer is 18 months. Somebody doesn’t have a masters in brewing, tsk tsk.

Well the area around Los Angeles might be the best one area in the United States for beer. I really enjoy the beers from Alesmith, Port Brewing and of course Stone. Actually you can't go far wrong with a Stone Imperial Russian in hand.

Actually you are quite incorrect there.

Plus you didn't make it clear what type of beer you were talking about, since there are many styles of beer and even many styles of wheat beer.

The time for barrelling is roughly the same between different commercial wheat beers, give or take maybe a month. I would have accepted anything in the ballpark of 18 months, but it seems you overstate your expertise. Nice try alt!

You are of course completely incorrect here by a large degree, which can be confirmed by anyone with any knowledge on the subject or anyone willing to consult a book or online resource.

If you are going to try to embarrass someone online it would serve you well in future to make less outlandish claims.

It doesn't really match any definition of beer that I would follow.

Got a link handy? I'm curious about the subject, myself.

If you don't have a brewing reference book then just Google for it, you should find many pages on this subject.

Recommendations of sources from someone referring to himself as an expert might go a long way to validating your claims.
