Not the point. My point was that your assessment of what Buddhist Monks strive for was an over-simplification. Of course, how can I expect you to understand what Buddhist Monks strive for when you've implicitly compared them to rats and misspelled the word, Buddhist.

This is rich, given that you've oversimplified a rather vast word, like 'survival'. You do know, survival encompasses many things? Including the conscious mind. And its interesting that you somehow attached "this why my frienddzzzs dont like you" to a statement you did not fully comprehend. Again, the comparison of Bhuddists directly to Rats is a delusion you are having.

lately though my first example is what im doing. im prying on some chick insecurities and problems and using it as leverage to gain for my benefits. throwing in doubts and questions here and there. will it work? i dunno. is it adding conflict in her side of things? seems like it for sure. do i want to bang her and try to get her to sleep with me? yeah. a lot of people would consider dealing with "taken" women a no-no but for me i dont care and nothing really tells me otherwise. except the fact a serious ass kicking from an enraged husband as a deterrent.

ive used some people just for personal gain recently too. just for minor stuff thou.

i have this theory that everyone's out to snake you and use you for their own gain, dont really trust anyone but close friends really, even then thats sometimes in question. sadly, im in one of those people who use people, when i try to not live like that :\

although just reading over some of the replies quickly id assume 90% are like that anyways above lol.

good replies thou some good reads

People have felt 'beingness' whether they were cutting things with stones or lasers. That sense of unity/oneness/love, is something else outside the scope of 'progress'. Progress essentially caters to the subjective 'quality of life', a concept completely relative to social mood and values. That is to say, the Sioux would not find the invention of an iPhone tantamount to any notion of 'progress' (if they even had the notion of progress)

Progress is a time-based conception of collective worldly actions. It is given importance when people collectively believe that their waking lives are the ultimate reality, and so they labor endlessly to prevent pain or prolong pleasure.

I just got schooled in a good way

But doesn't his reference to Buddhist Monks have more dignity than rats but I do see your point.

Or perhaps you've erroneously conflated survival with Buddhism?

Or maybe you're unable to reconcile the disparity between who you really are and how you are perceived and this dissonance has caused you pain.

Actually, since you inadvertently made the comparison, it would be qualified as a delusion you were having.

Or maybe you add more delusions on top of delusions? You simplified my use of the word of 'survival' as something that does not entertain the conscious mind. Even though I gave an example of Bhuddist Monks, who clearly survive in a way that uses the conscious mind as their main activity towards survival and life. Various animal species being a CONTRAST to that. Yet you are saying, that I likened Bhuddist Monks directly to Rats in some way, just because I used two examples close to eachother? I cant help but laugh at your ignorance, while you parade around "my friendzzz dont like youuz." LOL. Nevertheless, I am inspired...in some weird way.

It's not about being an "internet judge". Do you share these views and thoughts with people in real life? They're extremely far-fetched, and you deem everyone else to be delusional (resorting quickly to argumenta ad hominem) though that's exactly how we often feel about you. Here, let me illustrate it for you.

Most people would feel comfortable saying that sugar makes you fat because of its caloric content, but having a sweet tooth is anything but uncommon, reason why the consumption of sugar is still high. It's a very simple state of affairs.

We wouldn't be at all surprised if you told us giant food corporations added addictive substances in refined sugar so people craved it more and more and spent most of their mental capacity on how to get more sugar - so they can slake their thirst for sweet drinks, or whatever - than on how to fight the corrupt government that has been keeping us as their sheep and orchestrating the creation of a New World Order thanks to the hypnotic powers of sugar craving.

You see how something simple and natural, such as a basic human attraction to sugar, suddenly became a subplot about governmental mind control? It's both unnecessary and unlikely to explain the event... yet you claim everyone else is deluded.

I'm not going to argue with someone who has no cool friends, who misrepresents survival as a goal of Buddhism being that, within a central belief of Buddhism, survival is a foregone conclusion by virtue of reincarnation, and who has consistently, throughout this thread, compared Buddhist Monks to rats. It's offensive, and I will not be a party to it!

EDIT: ,
