yes, the government is most definitely hiding stuff from us. sum of it is hidden for national security reasons, others to maintain the power of the elite and so on
also, theres many different secret organizations within the government, whose budgets run into the billions but are masked and stuff...
u just have to pick up any of the non-fiction espionage books and u'll see that theres been alot of amazing stuff going on that no-one in the general public knew abt!
i also think that the government knows stuff about ETs but isn't disclosing it...after all, real government-funded studies have been conducted to investigate the matter...who knows what they really found out?

Of course the government lies and hides things, it's human nature to do so. People on average tell at least one lie a day. Don't tell me that you haven't ever lied and kept something secret.
Just because we are capable of lieing, doesnt mean historical events didnt occur and the government is working with aliens.
