? Not sure he said anything wrong. Just that he was glad someone wasn't playing a specific genre of house and that he was personally not a fan of that specific genre.

It could be construed as bagging on another style of music which is an important part of the whole house music scene.. I simply think that such a view is rather narrow-minded.

Good point to keep in mind when listening to ANY live set. Sometimes they translate really poorly to someone listening to the set on a laptop in their lounge

Dana is quickly becoming one of my fav dj's. This track - Groove Armada - History (Still Going remix) is great.

PS: Go the nu-disco trend...I'm so sick of minimal tech house :-)

Nah not any bagging on music, just on amount of djs who play that genre ... BTW its not ok to criticise a dj who give us only 2 sets this year, if u dont go for a party where he play u dont have any right to grade his style ...

There is good nu-disco and there is bad nu-disco. Most of what is being played out there atm labeled as nu-disco is just slowed down deep house imo, and a bunch of it is very boring.

Skele Cam: I do like a bunch of disco records myself, just digg a little deeper than the nudisco section on beatport. Anthony Mansfield as you say is class, I rate him, same with Todd Terje, Prince Thomas, Diskjokke, Nick Chacona, Nicholas, the list goes on. What I am tired of is all the bandwagon jumpers who played minimal 2 years ago, because that was the thing then. Ah well I shall stop my rant, wasnt the intention of the post. Tried to point out that I thought Desyns set was great, but prob has something to do with it that I was there for the full set, got drunk and hanged out with some new cool friends too

Didnt just big up Desyn because he is a friend, he is still one of the best out there imo, and has some of the most amazing music you can get your hands on.

i totally agree with you erik about the bandwagon jumpers that played minimal 2 years ago and now are playing this filtered house/disco sound just cuz it's 'in'. but what i was referring to about desyn is the music he played from 2004-2007 or so and compare it too this set, you can tell his style has totally changed. we all know edm has evolved over the years going through a variety of different trends and styles, i just would never have thought desyn would play tracks like he does now a few years ago..not like there's anything wrong with that, i mean if you compare anything that i played from 2004-2007 and now i'm sure you can tell i evolved and changed a bit as a dj too. i guess its inevitable to any dj in the scene nowadays to kind of evolve and change style's as you see fit...

it also seems like every dj has there heyday and glory days in which the records people are putting out, fit the style that the dj is going for. desyn's heyday seems to be that in 04-07 sound which seemed very happy, upbeat and just quality house music (all very disco influenced), closest thing to that sound to me nowadays, is that nu-disco sound that's coming out now which is why i put the argument out there to begin with.

its more or less impossible to find the music that desyn played 04-07... they dont make it any longer (producers) they all started doing minimal or progressive house instead and a few tech house..... i go thru tons of music and there is max 5 % that is close..as you said the closest is the nu-disco sound but its still far away from that funky style desyn played back in the days
