Thanks for the kind words. As for the disco I really couldn't tell you because I'm kind of scratching my head over here. The reason I said I don't remember much in my review was because I didn't recognize any tracks and although there was his trademark sound of uptempo, jackin', soulful goodness it was missing something. I figured it out after I downloaded the one hour set that was posted and saw the tracklist. I guess he used edits and I'm used to hearing DC's mixes go in and out all night as he layers beats over melody or vice versa - last time I saw him was pre-Serato, CDJs, and all the new 21st century technology.
I also don't recall the vocals being at high levels in the club like in the posted set. There were more than a few periods where I was MIA, but that doesn't explain it for me. More than likely I was just so lost in the moment that nothing registers except I was feeling PURE JOY all night.
I don't think you should feel bad for missing any party even though you probably would have had a good time. I'm not sure if you've downloaded and heard the set, but you'll notice it's not 'traditional' disco, but 'DC' disco - all the edits have his trademark feel. I've missed plenty of legendary parties in my day for one reason or another, but I only regret one. DJ Sneak & Derrick Carter at Buzz II. I was there for their tag team the first time around at Buzz (this club is now the Comfort Zone), but the second time they came they did a live mix of Irene Cara's Fame.
Fame!
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly...High
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
Fame!
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
Fame!
I'm gonna live forever
Baby, remember my name
Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember...
It's a damn shame I couldn't make it to that one. Cheers.
