Not possible, my taste is way to diverse to be the worst.

However just looking at Scooter, supersaws, ASOT, Eurodance, Happy Hardcore and vocals I understand why. And that's fine with me

You left out the gap from early to mid 90s, when brits effectively killed off rave/breakbeat hardcore by unleashing bullshit like this on the world:

And really, Gatecrasher and its rabid punters gagging for bigger and bigger anthems at the end of the 90s have just as much responsibility for the state trance is in now creatively.

You officially have the worst taste in TA. You have even beaten Trance-MB. I salute you!

as often you do you read what you wanted to read instead of what is written.

But who cares, i like Gaia - Aisha and i don't mind if they play it a lot, half of the trance scene is Armada and if they want something to become a classic it will become a classic.

Half of the trance scene is ASOT? I can understand that if you started to listen to trance since the last 6 months.
But pssst. Guess what, trance existed before ASOT! And there were trance classics before Armin! Believe it or not!

I find myself getting embarrassed to say I like Trance music when people ask, I have to explain it's NOT Pop Euro sound that people think is Trance.

been talking about this as well. the dutch have ruined the word trance with their bad music. it used to be that djs talked about taking it to the next level, but the dutch have taken it to the lowest level. like you said, even some of the uk and us djs try to copy them, like you said gareth emery and markus are two of them.

there are quality trance djs out there like john fleming, christopher lawrence (the two I mainly listen to). to me and many others, thats real trance.

a lot of my friends who used to be obsessed with armin, above & beyond are burned out on the dutch sound now. its old news and it seems like people are moving towards cooler sounds.

For every Dutch producer who makes shit music, there's 3 that make good music. I don't know how you can blame a country for what has happened to trance, but I imagine it involves having an extra chromosome.

you're right about people moving away from the dutch sound. I've seen the same thing happen with my friends, they used to be all about it but now they've ditched it now because of its cheese ball image. I mean, some of those music videos are beyond bad, I cringe when I watch them. dutch trance is embarrassing and it surprises me there are still promoters that still push it. I guess they're part of the old school and they haven't seen the change is coming. people want to listen to credible music, it's about time promoters figured that out.

I strongly agree with most of this - its just that you cant blame the country imo. like yes armin tiesto and ferry to a lesser degree have done exactly what you have said - bring it down to the lowest common denominator - maybe what started as a culture between these guys then turned into a competition for world domination.

guys like eelke kleijn are dutch and eelke is pretty awesome in my book.

but then again the dutch guys are only following on from what guys like sasha, seb fontaine, max graham etc worked out before the turn of the millenium - anthmes = god status. The only difference is a lot of these older guys matured. (for better or worse)

generally though its the trance world in general that has allowed them to make fortunes out of doing this - and thus its all the plebs out there that worship these guys and the producers and djs that try and copy the tiesto/avb style's fault - WORLDWIDE.

PS - Joof and CL are great but they are just the first sratches on the surface man. there is a whole world of great trance out there :-)
