1) it's not free. tranceaddict.com has banners and ads. believe it or not, i click on them every time to support the site, and i'm here at least twice a day. if clicking on the "featured CD" brings even as low as $0.05, i'm giving swamper more than $3 per month. not much, but i bet it's a lot more than you do, which gives a nice perspective on the bitching thing you mentioned above.

2) i've already explained my position: this is TRANCEaddict.com, not technoaddict.com. putting techno sets online is a complete waste when you can get them from other places (which, and i'm repeating myself again, don't EVER host trance). i don't have anything against techno in general, but i have against techno right here.

3) commander tom isn't THAT known. when he played whatever he played i was listening to gabber (and i still do - the only acceptable "let's get this party started" would be a 220 BPM variant). in 1996 i started listening to goa and later on psychedelic trance. drum'n'bass came into my life somewhere around early 1998 (unfortunately) and for the last couple of years i've been into orchestral jazz. cheese is not my preferred type of music, believe me.

4) since we're into "you've never heard of...", what can you tell me about juan atkins?

can we drop this whole thing now?

Bloody hell, did this set create a debate or what? lets not get pissed off, after all we are all brothers and sisters in trance, yes? trance in the broadest sense of the word. i can play trance, techno, funky house, tribal, whatever. like swamper said, dont be so closed minded, and if you dont like techno dont download it. personally i thought this set was great, plus it scared the shit out of me.

This set is nice but the sound quelety is not that good I think I miss the bass.
The mixing in some points good be better.

Why not?? There is plenty of techno addicts on this forum (me included) and posting a few techno sets is a good idea because we like it. It cleary states techno in the description, so if you don't like it then simply don't download it. Posting a few techno sets isnt going to hurt anybody is it??

ok, how about be briefly analyze your douche-ness mr d_sub. my main concern with you is that you seem to think you have a right to dictate what gets posted on this site. funny, im on www.tranceaddict.com, not www.whateverd_sublikes.com. As for it not being free... you are voluntarily clicking the banner ads, that doesn't make it a pay site. i know i dont write a check to tranceaddict every month to grab new music. what you are doing is noble in the sense that most people just take the site for granted and dont realize the amount of energy that goes into it on swamper and the ta crew's end. now, you seem to think that because you are clicking banners you have a right to dictate, similar to being a .01% stockholder who thinks he's the shit. unfortunately this isn't the case. im not saying you shouldn't voice your opinion. thats what these boards are for. if you didn't like the set i wanna hear all about it. what i don't want to hear, and what actually has no place here, as you would say, is mandating what music gets posted. you aren't the only one that wants to download, and i personally appreciate a little variety. the whole argument about it being a trance site doesn't mean anything. trance and techno are too similar for us to banish them to seperate corners of cyberspace. if i was running a hiphop website and decided to post a little incubus for good measure, and you told me it needed to dissapear - id throw some expletives at you and ban your ip from my site.

"besides, techno lovers will take every opportunity to bash trance, while trancers respect the opinion of others. well, almost."

what kind of hypocritical crap is that? i love when people generalize about 'techno lovers' and 'trance lovers' as if they were all similar. basically, like everyone else said, you're being close-minded, and assuming lots of authority you aint got.

--dB--

ps - commander tom is awesome and id love to have a set of his on here sometime. viva/mtv ? du verstehst wohl nur bahnhof.
