Who are you referring to? I think Joof and Lawrence are pretty hypocritic, too. They talk about bad and uninspired Trance and saving Trance all the time yet they often produce and play very boring and uninspired music.
C. Lawrence and John 00 Fleming are part of the scene as well, no?

Yeah, but I guess the point is the quotes from Armin, Ian van Dahl, PVD criticizing bad trance are hypocritical since that is what they play and that is how they make their money.
Wasn't there a video interview a few years back from Armin where he was going nuts on DJ Sammy?

I cringe every time I see this. You think Armin can't sink himself any further, but he does with every sentence.
It's amusing how there's a recurring theme of cheddar trance djs blaming each other for bringing down the genre. Do they really believe they're not part of the problem?

Ah, those quotes take me back to the good old days of Trance Vs Progressive People on TA used to talk about prog as slow, boring music, like people use the term "minimal" today.
thats because it's the same thing with new packaging

"Some people consider "trance" to be similar to "commercial" or "cheese". - Armin Van Buuren
Hey Armin, you must be one of those people you're referring to, since that is exactly what you produce and play.

That was problably an old quote made by him. But Armin has always produced shit so in the end it doesn't matter. Of all three dutch so claimed trancemasters Tiesto had his good moments especially in his early career (mostly talking about some of his compilations and livemixes). Ferry or Armin in the other hand had made nothing that made any lasting impression for anyone but cheesefest.

Some of Ferry's older work/ aliases were pretty good.

although this wasn't the kind of stuff I normally listened to, I kinda liked this ferry track when it came out.

Ferry's not too bad imo. I think System F - Exhale is okay, and Sublime's pretty damn good. Star Traveller also.
If I hear Punk in 1 more person's set I'm gonna slit my wrists.
People tend to only play songs that are "catchy" and end up playing them to death, now I can't stand to listen to songs I used to think were so great just because they've been over played. It's really sad.
