The only reason people are using Beatport is because AmazonMP3 and iTunes don't have as big of an electronic music catalog.

The other Beatport clones (AudioJelly, DJDownload, Trackitdown, etc.) have the same shit prices, awful interfaces, and horrible search engines.

Curious, why is Beatport so damn expensive? $2.50 for a 320kbps MP3? I admit to searching for music on Beatport and then buying it on iTunes, Beatport is great for discovery but it's extremely expensive.

Plus, Apple just announced 90 second previews, the music has been DRM free for a while and it's 256kbps AAC which sounds just as good as 320kbps MP3s, AAC files sound much better than MP3 at the same bit rate so the fact that it's a bit lower is negligible.

I still buy music on Beatport but it hurts my wallet, and there isn't even a review system or a rating system.

Guys, what would you think about a monthly subscription where you can download what you want(well maybe to SOME limit... else leechers could just download everything and share that...?)

And what would you be willing to pay as subscription?

5 euro/dollar? 10? 50? Or is it a bad idea anyway?
