From the pictures it appears to me that there is a slight dent/paint scratch so full repaint required.

so you're saying that painting two doors entirely looks better than a 1/4 or 1/3 of the door?

if you want cheap then spray paint white over the scratches, will cost you $30.

your logic doesn't make sense and you don't have to be a car person to figure that out. also, this is not my car, but the person i hit.

i was hoping that someone would be able to give a more detailed breakout versus, "yeah well this one time i got hit and stuff and it cost this much and i think i had to replace this and paint that..."

No, you were hoping that someone would tell you that it should be $200.

or convince me with details that it's $800 and above. quote some details if you can fidn them because i don't see any. cost of labor, cost of materials, time, etc.

all the reponses have been generic and about other people's cases which without pics, we don't know if they are similar.

it depends on where the person goes. some places will charge $500 for that damage, some $800, some even more. around the area i worked, people would charge easily $479-$679 for that damage. all dependent on where the person gets the work done

I believe the going rate for outsourced googling is about $175/hr.

I already gave you an honest assessment. Clearly, my ignorance to the fact that Volvos can't dent other cars serves as a death-blow to my credibility, though.

clearly i said volvos don't dent other cars and your 'assessment' "$800 doesn't sound ludicrous" based on...

Of course it will be more than $800. And No, you can't blend it in. And the fact that they're not replacing the door makes them have to fix the damages that has been done to the it. That's sanding, primeing and x coats of paint to make it look exactly like the other one.

And the fact that you were "only going 1mph" while it happened just makes you THAT much more of a talentless moron. You were probably making contact with the other car for 10+ seconds. Congratulations on doing a splendid job!

Learn to park you fucking idiot.
