as far as compilations go, i only have holden's djkicks and ewan's we are proud of our choices. def want to check out apparat's dj kicks, immer 3, fabrics and rest on that list just not enough time or extra cash really.

i would of put ghostly international a bit higher but i prefer their sound more than the others

I like the Caribou pick...

I know your post is meant to be ironic, but I think it's stupid how RA and other "serious" dance music sites completely 100% ignore Trance because it's not cool, even if there might actually be some decent releases (Mistiquemusic or whatever). They even try to avoid the word, you rarely (almost never) see RA describing a track as "trancy" or something like that.

God forbid an entire website dedicated to techno and house pick only techno and house labels. OH THE HORROR! Dorks

They used to cover trance. Heck, they even liked it!

Why don't they cover vocal trance anymore?

They have no problem covering Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Ambient, IDM, whatever.

And jeez I didn't say they should start reviewing Dash Berlin tracks or put Armada labels in that list, I'm just saying that they're acting like 14 year olds that have been completely ignoring the genre for years now because it's not cool. There isn't coming enough good stuff out of Trance to review it regulary anyways but they're not even doing a single a year.

And as Sykonee said, I searched for reviews from 2001 and this is the first thing I found http://www.residentadvisor.net/review-view.aspx?id=162. Or this, they gave a Ferry Corsten tune a 5 http://www.residentadvisor.net/review-view.aspx?id=718

Did you read the review? Looks like someone from trance.nu wrote it.

The autonomic sound is featured, and dubstep, and they're neither techno or house

I'm pretty sure you guys know what I mean

They are primarily a techno/house website that hint on other underground styles (i.e. drum n bass, dubstep, disco etc). Trance in no way, shape or form, fits in with what they do. It's commercial, it's poppy, it's cheese, it's fluff, and they don't touch it. Why should they?

They don't review/talk about trance for the same reason they don't review/talk about Bob Sinclar and David Guetta (aside from the general, so and so dj will be at so so and party).

Did I say they should review ASOT-stuff? Against what many people think, there still is underground Trance.

I mean for example that Mistique stuff that a lot of people here love obviously has a huge prog influence but it's still pretty good.
