talk about one shitty ass broadcast/setup......
ok, her goes the bitching...........
First of all, the video feeds are going up and down, the servers aren't always active. Second of all, the low bandwidth feed for audio stream 1 keeps going down. Out of the 4 streams about 2 are working consistently. Fortunately the high bandwidth feeds are the consistent ones.....The site is also loading up slow as hell, the updates are like every damn 20 ten minutes, and whats with this voting shit? We basically don't know who the fuck we are gonna hear until the second before the broadcast? I mean shit, for the top DJs (we all know who they are), isn't it obvious who people want to hear? We got some JP DJ (whom I've never heard of) who is actually keeping up with Ferry's votes. I mean, there is a possibility that this JP DJ could be playin on the stream instead of Ferry. (I doubt it tho)......but still.......
Also, the quality in these feeds is pretty crappy, as far as audio atleast. I mean, it can't sound much more live than that lol.....K, onto the next bitching complaint......After waiting 25 minutes past the original time for Sasha to start spinning, I hear Dutch. Now thats ok, but the entire convo in Dutch? This is an internet broadcast right? Ok, I imagine most people in the Netherlands would prefer to be at the festival, than at home on the internet listening. So my point is, howcome its not being spoken in the international language of english? Please don't get the wrong idea, I mean, I understand its a dutch festival, but they are broadcasting it on the internet for a reason, and not the local radio, if I am not mistaken. There's really no question that the DJs speak english (most of the top DJs atleast), and atleast speak it somewhat decent, and I am almost positive the broadcasters/interviewers speak it. I can guarantee, more people are listening from around the world, than in the Netherlands. Bah, well thats fine. I can live with the language barrier, makes it all more interesting anyway.
But I originally was ripping the set, tell I came back to my comp 35 minutes later, and heard nothing but drum n bass. Maybe the announcers said he was going to be on stream 1?? Hell, I don't know, it was in Dutch! At the beginning of the set, it sounded like Sasha. If you ask me, it says on this damn page, audio stream 2.....If the damn stream would list which DJ is currently spinning, that might help. Incase you guys are wondering, I am/was using the original URLs to the streams, so ya don't have to go through the shitty flash setup. You'll also notice the audio broadcasters tweakin the volume during the broadcasts......Anyway, I stopped the damn rip, not worth the bullshit. Its 8 am, I'm tired, and disappointed.
Anyway, if you aren't going through the flash window, and prefer to listen through Winamp like I did, instead of shitty quicktime or windows media, you better kiss your ass you speak dutch, and that you know exactly when each DJ is coming on, and hope someone in the crowd yells out the DJs name for a confirmation that IT IS that DJ lol.......other than that, I'll leave the Dance Valley ripping to someone else this year......
Incase any of you are wondering, all these difficulties, are not in anyway related to my connection/computer. Trust me on that one......
