Another shit thing about OZ is that we get all the vinyl here aggggessssss away from other larger countries like the US and the UK. We're way behind times in that respect.

Wasn't there a thread here earlier about how someone saw Punk on Video Hits or something like that a couple of weeks ago?

And it's good to see that nelsonca and Trancey Ash belong to the social elite.

As far as ID's go, about 4 or 5 years ago I did what escee said to do. It turned out sweet. She asked me to sign a piece of paper and I fucked it up and she asked how I had changes it and after a bit of guesswork walked out with a completely legit looking licence.
But I went to renew my licence recently and noticed that it says they store your photo now and have to check it.

Man, I still don't understand the whole 'i'm underground so im cool' thing. Why is it a bad thing if certain music becomes popular and mainstream? I mean even if you get a lot of 'teeny boppers' and stuff going on about how cool it is and it is the latest fad, why will that change you? You will still like what you like. If you hear stuff you say is commercial and cheesy but you think you know better then good for you. You could show someone, and get them hooked. Fads go away.

And as for our scene, I don't really know. I mean I don't buy vinyls or anything, I just buy the compilations and cds that I like. I want to start getting vinyl but I don't think we have anything to play them on.... To me being sort far away from everywhere else and trance not being as popular makes it good because then when a great international dj comes over once or twice a year it makes it more special. I guess I'm thinking its easier to get excited about Paul van Dyk coming here because it is only once every year. lol I don't know where this is going...

Instead of going out and hearing every club play progressive housey stuff which is so popular (at least in perth along with dnb) we would be able to hear trance. Then, a year or so down the track something else would come along and take over, but, some clubs would still play the trance that we love.

Which is better than what we have now.

where'd u pull the idea that Perth has a good prog house scene man? its basically non-exitant.

get a grip dude, trance has more of a following in Perth than prog house

Yeah, it takes months for even a new CD to come out. Just get the vinyls off the net if you want them so bad but, I don't spin (yet) so I don't mind waiting.

The best thing to get is a driver's licence (learner's is ok) or a keypass or proof of age or passport. Security guards don't accept anything else. And make sure it looks real. Though there are some real dumb ******s out there who just see the card and say ok.

Just some advice.

you can get "novelty" id cards from www.phatism.com. Its really cheap in comparison with other companies. A whole group of my mates from school are going to get one. Should be good. And it does work, a mate got one and it looks so real.

I think it might be Victorian, because when me and my mates went up the coast to NSW the bartenders were giving us shit thats its dodgy and stuff hehe. But its just an ID card, like if you aren't driving or something and you don't want to carry your passport around or something. Its all official and shit, and everywhere you go here should accept it. You can get forms from the police station but like I said, I think it might be only for Victoria. As for saying you are 18, thats the whole point of getting one...I think you might need to be 18. And I dunno if you can h4x0r it.

I was pretty lucky that gold coast 2tribes was 15+ ;p
So I got to see tiesto, j00f, picotto etc (but the warmup dj's jen-e and ricemeister still rocked just as hard)
Apart from myself and another two mates I don't remember actually seeing anyone who looked remotely under 18. However the event was pretty big imo and I suppose there was alot of people there who were getting a taste of real electronica for the first time, and that's a good thing. It means these 18+ ppl might take an interest in the genre and buy more electronica associated stuff.

I haven't been to any other 'events' for under 18's because I know they'll just be shit. Sad thing is this year, godskitchen tour hits brisbane on the 10th(?) of october, then Ultrasonic are also up in bris on the 19th of octber.

My 18th is on the 23rd of october.

/me cries and dies.
