Thanks to BOK and everyone involved for putting on a great show once again.
The space was really nice, something a bit different and minimally decorated. Not my favourite BOK venue to date, but it was still a great space. Sound was more than sufficient and the room was a perfect size. As said earlier, the washroom situation was less than ideal, but thats what you get when your not using a typical venue, and thank god for that. The staff were really friendly as well and overall the vibe was typical BOK.
Walked in to Jamie laying down a solid opening set, and everyone starting to get well into it. Then Mike Gibbs came on and continued where Jamie left off. I've really enjoyed Mr. Gibbs everytime I've seen him, his track selection is truly top notch, hoping to catch more of him in 2011. Had a quick word with Robag who was excited to be back in Toronto and he really liked the space as well. His set was VERY good imo. It was far from the typical "cookie-cutter" sound that's become predominant as of late, and was full of creativity and flowed in and out of different sub-genres of techno. Towards the end things really picked up and he definitely brought his A-game. Probably the best set I've personally heard from Robag to date.
Shame that it ended so early, I'm sure Robag would have kept going but the gallery staff were pretty adamant about ending promptly. Fair enough.
Good times, good friends, what more could you ask for.
