Yeah, i kind of thought the same things when i saw that video. I was like "man, I'm too old for that kind of party! Shit has changed."
Haha, I was doing a radio studio thing in a Red Bull pilot project in Amsterdam about 2 years ago (called the Rooms of Red Bull which is going worldwide this year I think). A lot of the artists that came round were really pushing dubstep and I couldn't take any of it to be honest. Skrillex is the first one I actually like.

I've always though this was one of the greatest pieces of music ever created, in any genre across all time. It's also hard to find many people who don't appreciate it, which speaks volumes in itself.

Wow, hearing a lot of different things here, from "flat" "no dimension" ASOT / Anjuna style overcompressed crap to minimal electro type grooves in "not so good" mix quality.
I would have assumed a lot more high quality productions, engineering wise, but most seem to prever bombastic over quality.
Which in itself is interesting and explains the current music culture. I would probably settle more toward Brian Eno, or in EDM Wippenberg, or Jorn van Duynhoven.
In my view one of the worst things to happen to EDM, trance in particular in the last 5 or more years is the focus on production rather than composition.
You have tracks from the late 90s and early 00s which engineering wise aren't fantastic but they hold a compositional magic that the vast majority of modern releases lack. The older I get, the less I give a crap about how "tight", "clear" and "punchy" a track sounds and the more I focus on how the track makes me feel.

true, but trance also evolved in it's style, and i personally think that 90's producties have a loth more depth than the most recent productions (loudness war)

If we're talking about Man With No Name, "Floor Essence" is where it's at, IMO:

i just have this weird sense when i know things arent superficial, basically if i hear a song and i realize damn this artist put their entire passion and all into it, and i go to that place where the artist was while writing that particular track, thats when i love it..basically a song that doesnt try to hard...
it can something as simple as this..
or..

Tubular bells init?
/jk. Great track actually - I don't think it's aged that well, along with 95% of TD's stuff but still a classic none the less.

Good god man! Have you no compassion. I can't be raving at work. I'll end up having to fire myself.
Absolute belter for sure.
@eric - fuck it, you should have just outed him about the female facade thing right there
This to me is when trance (or epic house? - shit, better not start that one again) was just superb.....
EDIT: Bugger can't find a video for either of them.
Lovelight, and In Spirit (Jayne)
You know what i'm talking about
And I've got to give props to Pryda for this one too......

See I think it has but to each their own. Here's an updated version that sampled it
