if im honest guys, i seem to be getting a negative vibe with 99% of the answers here. Im not looking for a wisdom talk on how ill be old and grey before i can make something worth releasing. I read that on Gareth Emery's road to fame, he created a mix for Armin over the course of 2 weeks whilst on holiday purely on his laptop, which was a huge hit with Armins fans, all over the world.

With that in mind, i believe that my only set back, is converting ideas to notes and beats. I have alot of time on my hands at the moment, so spending most my days on my editor. Im very eagar to progress so rather than saying 'see you in 10 years', or welcome to hell, why not point me off in the right direction?

Yes, i am a 'noob' in the producers scene, but i know my music, and my DJing, so i dont see why i cant pick up a few tips and tricks that will help me achieve my desired results.

You could post your last project in the MPP, it would be easy to know how far you are from those artist and help you to start to improve your stuff.

The 3 biggest things that helped me to get started on making tracks was, TA, Youtube, and Computer Music magazine http://www.musicradar.com/computermusic , the magazine helps to teach you all aspects of learning to make music on your pc. Its not always the music you want to produce that they show. but, the idea's and concepts are the same through-out production. I can't tell you how much CM helped me out. And youtube man, it has everything you could ever need. Anything you can think of, someone has posted a video about it. Check out TA's sticky threads, alot of useful info there. Just research man and you will get there.

Like everyone has said, it will take a while, but so does everything else in life. Very few people can lay their hands on a musical instrument for the first time and be good at it.
