You've got sonos, which I've installed a few times but you're getting in to home automation territory with so much crap you'll likely never use, not to mention $1000+ at trade pricing but the most basic of systems and a dedicated internet connection etc.

You've then a got a few wireless stereo and satellite speaker setups, most of which sound like utter crap, unless you get in to B&O territory but again the cost is even more ridiculous.

So I found this system called soundcast which lets you transmit and receive audio up to distances of 300ft (150 indoors and through walls) and uses the similar technology as wireless phones (albeit different bands to avoid interference).

Looks like I'm going to try them and I'll report back here.

and even this is on the casual listening side of things. What options are there for serious music production? I haven't found any.

I dont think there are any. If those already mentioned in this thread cant match a normal cable when it comes to quality then how poorly do they stack up against properly balanced monitor cables?

There basically aren't any - like I said, the bang & olufsen system is very good, and the sonus system is OK, but still they're simply not as good as a three copper conductors in a rubber sleeve.

The soundcast system is OK for listening purposes, like if you wanted to have another set of speakers or a sound system in the garden or another room for DJ with, but I wouldn't produce on it.

TBH, if you hate individual cables that much, get some custom looms made with specifically tailored tails, for both length and type of connector.

I used to work for Van Damme Cable (supplied Liam Howlett, Cold Play, Abbey Road, Air Studio etc) and they make the best cables I have ever seen - my entire setup is VD starquad with Neutrik Gold Slimline connectors, all tailored for the exact run length.

In the US, I would go with Mogami (like Van Damme in terms of Quality), and get someone like Pacific Radio in Cali to build them as they know what they're doing.

my cables are unbalanced under 20 $ cables. Also have some Hossa cables for synths I don't use anymore. I just don't believe in spending more than 20$ on a cable.

although my setup only has 6 cables so to speak. And I lied, the ones going to the monitors are xlr and the 2 cables from each to the sub are xlr as well. But from audio device to soundcraft mixer, unbalanced yorkville cables They sound super analog.

While I don't think anyone should buy in to that $300 per foot Gold stranded cable bullshit, there is a clear benefit to buying good quality cables.

Hosa are fucking horrible and no name brand are going to be even worse.

If by audio device you mean synth then it doesn't matter if they are unbalanced as they in most cases unbalanced outputs, but at least use properly insulated instrument cable and quality connectors. Still means they shouldn't cost more than $25 each but there's a difference between inexpensive quality cable and cheap crap cables.

Especially as you have a really nice DAC and some decent monitors.
