Gladly.

I doubt their taste is that good, though. It's probably all Club Monaco.

Really? If I had to guess, I would have been far more likely to pick this as the work of poofy Frenchmen.

1 part pretentiousness
1 part unadulterated drug use
1 part believing in a loop

and there you have techno.

it has nothing to do with being deep, or artsy ,or even where you are from. It takes balls to try and sell tickets to a cowbell being raped by a kick drum for 4 hours.

we've all liked mindless pill music at one point or another.

eh thats debateable..

why would you stick to such silly canned patterns if you know how to play an instrument and you are free of the sequencer and midi clock?

i don't get this weird fetish people have for 'minimal techno played by real instruments'. its like chiptunes or something. OMG mozart in 8 bit!

there was also a garage rock cover album released by the dirtbombs earlier this month that covered a bunch of detroit techno classics.

most of them suck, but a few are quite cool, like the cover of sharivari and knights of the jaguar. strings of life cover is ok. i like these ones better because they aren't so ironic - i think it actually starts to revive a meaningful connection between detroit techno and a garage/grunge/punk aesthetic.
