I'm sorry, I misspoke. Bin Laden was/is the leader of al-Qaeda, which was being sheltered by the Taliban government in Afghanistan. It is kind of splitting hairs saying that the Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11. They weren't directly involved with it, but they were definitely sheltering those who were.

There were two reasons for invading Iraq...

First was only a business venture by Haliburton and second was a present for daddy Bush...

Afghanistan should've been nuked as far as I'm concerned along with half the damn region...

I don't think the Iraqi invasion was to bring them democracy, but one could make the case that the American presence in primarily Muslim countries under dictatorial rule could have had an indirect influence on the current state of many of these countries fighting for their own democracy.

I do agree with the points you made, but deposing Saddam was long overdue. If he had the resources/manpower, he could have easily been the next Hitler. He often spoke of Iraq as a mighty nation with the power to conquer all of its adversaries. That, along with the borderline genocide of the Kurds in Iraq, and his previous invasion of Kuwait, it was very clear that something needed to be done.

I'm not saying a full-on invasion of Iraq was justified, all I'm saying is that it does seem as if some good has come out of it.

Yes, because where they were born has much to do with their involvement in al-Qaeda, which was centered in Afghanistan. No worries, just pointing it out. But yeah, Al-Qaeda are the ones who orchestrated and carried out September 9/11, which is the terrorist group Bin Laden leads. After the attack he sought protection in Afghanistan, because he considered the Sharia Law practiced by the Taliban there to be true Islam ,and he knew they would never allow him to be extradited to a non Muslim country, especially the USA.
