?? I didn't watch those clips entirely, but skimmed through and saw a lot of tunnels/tracks and stuff that reminded me of this game

Yes
The games are quite a departure from the movie, more loosely-based science-fiction/horror than existentialism, but they still make it very rewarding to be familiar with the movie when you play the game.

Noooooooooooo, you'll ruin the experience and what understand the vast majority of the second one without playing the first one. Just play Portal 1, it's brilliant and only takes about 3-4 hours.
We’ll see, but I have yet to play a game where this is the case

I think playing the second one first will also ruin a little bit of the first game. There are so many new features...

I agree play the first one first. I just replayed it (only took 3 hours cuz I remembered how to solve stuff) and forgot how cool it was.

I assume this game is very frustrating and I do not like to be frustrated when Im in my office and trying to get my game on- the best game Valve ever came out with is Team Fortress 2- I still play that to the grind. This game was part of that package so I got respect it but no love for it.
