Japanese curry!? I'll have to try that sometime soon. How can you not like Thai curry?? So good Love me some duck curry.
When I was younger I was a relatively picky eater. The only vegetable I would eat was Broccoli. Around 18 or so I started eating some salads and realized that I actually liked salad! I also learned that I loved asparagus and just about any vegetable other than brussel sprouts I'll eat just about anything put in front of me now, living or dead hahaha
Gerard - I normally agree with you on your points for sushi restaurants. There's one sushi restaurant back home here that is owned by Koreans (gasp!) but they do literally everything right, and god knows I'm not the only one that thinks that- anytime I eat dinner there the place is packed with Japanese people puttin' back the sake and Koreans with their soju. One thing I love about the place is the Korean flair. That is, after you order they bring out a couple awesome side dishes for free, similar to the type of stuff you'd get at a Korean bbq. You just can't go wrong with that!
This is all making me so hungry right now. Damn...

Picky eaters piss me the fuck off. And whats funny, it seems like I know more picky GUYS then I do girls.
I do understand when there is a GOOD reason for not liking XX, but when I get the simple "I didn't like it" with NO reasoning behind it I am literally
I was "talking" to a girl a few years ago. Finally, we went out on a date. We had gone over the restaurant (that she had gone to before) so I was like...well this will be good. WRONG. Once the menus came out she started complaining about EVERYTHING. She didn't like this or that and she felt the need to want to go somewhere else. After I convincing her to get something (I put her on blast for WANTING to go there), she was still complaining. Add this to her consistent texting to her BFF that we were going to meet up with with in an hour later for drinks (my cell phone was put away), I walked out on her.
I got up, told her that I needed to go to the bathroom. I found our waiter gave him my CC and told him to charge the full dinner and what ever else the fuck she wanted (with in reason) on that card. After leaving the bathroom, I walked out of the restaurant through the kitchen and turned off my phone and drove home.
Funny thing is, she didn't talk to me for 2-3 weeks after that (I didn't contact her during that time) and then out of no where she calls me said she was sorry and asked me out on a date.

The only food I really dislike is Blue Cheese. I keep trying it every once in a while to see if I've "grown into it" and always regret it. Shit fucking sucks.

there's a diff between having preferences and being downright RUDE about your food choices
i meet a lot of picky eaters who go "ew thats gross.. or __ is nasty"
THOSE are picky eaters i cant stand..
also.. if you happen to be in a situation where you can't control what you get to choose such as dinner parties/bbq/catered stuff..just try to manage.. yes i hate water chestnuts with a passion but if someone's mama made something with it.. i'd try to eat SOME OF IT.. unless a certain food is gonna make u sick.. just try to be gracious and make do for the moment

I don't understand how one can be a picky eater living in a city like Los Angeles or San Francisco (New York, Chicago, etc...big cities)....the food is amazing
I went to Church & State a few weeks back for a friend's birthday and had some kind of duck fat & oxtail tarte...BOMB.

I've never liked raw tomatoes on burgers/sandwiches or by themselves. But I love bruschetta and all types of tomato sauces. Also, I don't mind the flavor of coconut, but the texture itself is repulsive to me. I love coconut-based Thai curries, but I can't eat an Almond Joy or German chocolate cake.
I had food poisoning when I was real young and I remember trying to suck down an Oreo milkshake. It came back up and I've had an aversion to Oreos ever since.
Edit: I'll eat and enjoy just about anything else you put in front of me (cooked/prepared properly of course)

Really the only thing I don't like are raw tomatoes. (I will eat them cooked, sundried, etc...yet I love salsa.)
Everything else: Bring it! All cultures, flavors, and temps.
I tried octopus in Spain a few years back having never had it before and LOVED it. (drizzled with olive oil and paprika.)
Just like anything, you don't know until you try and try everything 2x.
Heading to the Sacto Mobile Food Festival today and looking forward to experiencing some new tastes and "old" dishes done in new ways. Yum!!!!
